Keto friendly bechamel for use on lasagne, moussaka, croque madame/monsieur toasty etc.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/3 cup cream cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
- Pinch of pepper (optional)
Method
- Over medium heat in a small saucepan, melt butter and cream cheese. Whisk until creamy consistency
- Pour in the heavy cream, whisking it into the mix evenly
- Bring to a simmer
- Add seasonings, remove from heat
- Let the mixture cool down slightly so it thickens
